The BLANCO Collection

BLANCO kitchen taps and sinks come from a German maker that started with the sink and built outwards. That order still shows. The sinks are where BLANCO spends its engineering, in materials, drainage and bowl shapes you'll notice every time you wash up, and the taps are designed to sit beside them as a matching pair rather than as an afterthought bought separately.

What BLANCO is known for

Material choice comes first with a BLANCO sink. Stainless steel is the classic, and BLANCO offers it in satin and brushed finishes, plus Durinox, a surface treatment with a velvety matt look that resists scratches and stays the same colour in sunlight. Silgranit is the other route: BLANCO's own granite composite, dense and heat-resistant, in colours that let the sink match a worktop instead of standing out against it.

The details are the second reason people choose the brand. InFino drainage hides the plughole under a flush cover so the bowl looks clean even mid-washing-up, tight-cornered Claron bowls give you more flat base for pans, and many sinks can be handed left or right at fitting.

The taps follow the same logic. Most are brass-bodied mixers in chrome, with a solid stainless steel line in brushed finishes for anyone who wants the tap to match a steel sink exactly. At the top of the range sit the drink systems, which pour boiling, chilled and sparkling water from the same spout as your washing-up water.

Choosing the right BLANCO range

Start with which half of the sink area you're replacing. BLANCO kitchen sinks cover undermount, inset and flush-fitted bowls in stainless steel and Silgranit, while BLANCO kitchen taps hold every mixer, from compact single levers to twin-lever traditional designs.

If the tap is doing more than filling a kettle, narrow it by what it needs to do. The pull-out range puts a spray head on a hose for rinsing pans and cleaning the bowl, and it's the right choice for a single tap that has to handle everything. For a kitchen where the kettle is going, the boiling water taps start there, and the Choice. All models add chilled water and sparkling water to the same spout. A new build or a specified project that has to meet water regulations should begin with the WRAS approved taps.

Two collections keep everything running once it's fitted. Filter cartridges and CO2 are the consumables the drink systems work through, and BLANCO accessories cover sink care, including a cleaning set made for Silgranit.

Living with BLANCO

Most of what a BLANCO sink asks of you is a quick wipe. Stainless steel shows water marks less in a satin or brushed finish than a polished one, and Silgranit keeps its colour best with a regular clean before limescale has a chance to settle.

A drink system brings a rhythm of its own. Filter cartridges are changed on use rather than on a calendar, and sparkling models add a CO2 cylinder that you swap through an exchange service when it runs out. It's worth reading those two collections before buying the tap, so the running costs are part of the decision from the start.

Comparing BLANCO with other makers first? The cross-brand boiling water taps, chilled water kitchen taps, sparkling water kitchen taps and pull-out taps collections set it against everything else we carry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BLANCO a high-end brand?

It sits at the upper end of the everyday kitchen market rather than the luxury fringe. A compact chrome mixer and a tap that pours boiling, chilled and sparkling water both carry the BLANCO name, so the brand covers a wide spread of budgets. What stays constant is the attention to detail, from InFino drainage in the sinks to solid brass and stainless steel bodies in the taps.

What is Silgranit?

Silgranit is BLANCO's own granite composite, used for its coloured sinks. It is dense, heat-resistant and has a matt, stone-like feel that stainless steel does not, and it comes in a choice of colours so a sink can match a worktop rather than contrast with it. A regular wipe keeps it looking right, with a deep clean now and then in hard water areas.

BLANCO or Franke for a kitchen sink?

Both are long-established European sink makers, and the better choice depends on the sink rather than the badge. BLANCO's strengths are its Silgranit composite and a deep stainless range with its own Durinox and InFino details. Compare the bowl size, mounting style and material you want first, then see which maker offers that combination in the finish your kitchen needs.

What guarantee comes with a BLANCO tap?

Every BLANCO tap we stock carries a two-year manufacturer guarantee, stated on each product page. That covers the tap itself; consumables such as filter cartridges and CO2 cylinders are replaced as part of normal use rather than under guarantee. If a longer guarantee matters to you, check the product page, since that's where each model's cover is listed.

Can I match a BLANCO sink and tap?

Yes, and it's one of the easiest ways to make a sink area look planned. BLANCO designs its taps and sinks side by side, so brushed stainless taps sit naturally beside a satin steel bowl, and darker steel finishes pair with the Durinox Dark Steel sinks. Choose the sink first, since it sets the material and colour, then pick the tap to suit.

Are BLANCO drink systems worth it over a separate boiling tap?

They are if you want more than boiling water from one fitting. A drink.hot tap gives boiling, filtered and ordinary hot and cold, while Choice. All adds chilled and sparkling too, all through a single spout. If boiling is the only extra you'll use, the simpler drink.hot models do the job with less under the sink to look after.
