Rangemaster Kitchen Sinks

A twenty-five year guarantee on a kitchen sink is an unusual thing to see, and a good part of this range carries one. It is the clearest signal available of what the manufacturer thinks the material will do over a couple of decades of daily use.

Four materials, not two

Most sink ranges give you steel and one alternative. This one covers four. Stainless steel is the largest part and the most forgiving. Ceramic is unusually well represented, fireclay fired hard and glazed to a white that holds for decades. Composite granite covers the colour end.

Igneous is the name Rangemaster give their granite composite, and it is worth being plain about what that means: it is a blend of roughly eighty per cent quartz with acrylic, the same class of material sold as composite granite everywhere else, not something separate. It appears on ranges such as the Paragon, the Amethyst and the Oridian, and it carries the twenty-five year guarantee.

The Belfast range is a strength

Belfast, Farmhouse, Grange, Sandwood and Harmony all appear here in fireclay, single and double bowl, plain and fluted. If the farmhouse look is what brought you, this is one of the deepest selections available anywhere.

They are sit-on sinks, which is the thing to plan for. The bowl rests on its own base unit with the broad glazed face exposed as part of the finished kitchen, so the cabinetry is built around the sink rather than the sink dropped into the cabinetry. Fireclay full of water is a serious load, and any fitter who has worked with the style will expect that.

Conventional fitting, and the MultiMount idea

For a normal worktop, the inset and undermount bowls cover the usual ground, and the MultiMount sinks go further by accepting more than one method. That flexibility lets you leave the mounting decision until the worktop is settled, which removes a constraint from a kitchen still being specified.

Bowl layouts run from single through one and a half to full double, and many of the steel and composite bowls come with an integrated drainer pressed or moulded as part of the same piece.

A Rangemaster tap is the simplest way to get the finishes agreeing, and the rest of what Rangemaster make sits alongside. To compare across manufacturers, the full kitchen sinks range is the place.
