Built for cabinets other makers ignore

The useful thing here is the sizing. Alongside conventional bowls, the range includes compact half-bowl and single-bowl sinks made for 300mm and 400mm base cabinets. Most manufacturers start at 500mm or 600mm and leave anything narrower to chance, which is why fitting a proper sink into a tight run is so often a compromise.

It is not a glamorous specialism and it solves a real problem. A small kitchen with a properly sized sink works considerably better than a small kitchen with a sink that was nearly the right size.

Stainless steel, throughout

Effectively the whole range is stainless steel, which is the sensible material for this job. It takes the boiling kettle and the hot roasting tin without flinching, nothing stains it or soaks into it, and there is no glaze to chip or seal to maintain.

Steel is also light, and in a compact kitchen that matters more than it does elsewhere: the base unit does not have to be built specially to carry the sink, which keeps a tight installation simple.

Fitting

The range covers both undermount bowls, which hang beneath a solid worktop so the surface sweeps straight into the bowl, and inset bowls that drop in from above. Undermounting needs granite, quartz, timber or another solid surface that can be polished and sealed at the cut edge; on laminate the inset rim is what keeps water off the core.

Layouts run from compact half bowls through single bowls to one and a half arrangements where the run allows.

Finish, and living with steel

The finishes here are brushed and satin rather than polished, which is the right call for a sink. A directional grain scatters light, so fingerprints and water spots barely register between cleans, and the fine web of small scratches that every steel sink develops over the years disappears into it rather than standing out.

A base grid is the single most useful thing to add. It keeps pans off the bottom of the bowl and takes the deeper marks that would otherwise land on the steel, which matters most on a compact sink where everything ends up stacked in one place.
